We have organized not only youth but parents at South Shore's Parkside Academy. Initially they lacked power, but this year they were able to replace the school's principal. Not Me We gave an "Our Future Award" to — pictured from left to right — Sharron Reeves, Lindsey Ridley, and Erica Prince. They're standing with executive director Dixon Romeo.

This year we won a five-year campaign to remove all School Resource (police) Officers from Chicago Public Schools. STOP gave an "Our Future Award" to Shamere Goodwin, Myesha Harris, Makayla Acevedo, Lamia Young, Jonathan Boyd, Deanna Robinson, Davione Jackson, Asia Tate, and Angela Harris. And to those pictured: from left to right, Isaac Letcher, Anna Durr, Ling Young, and Yanni Butler, with STOP executive director Alex Goldenberg.

As Alex said during the gala: "Just this morning, we stood with the mayor to celebrate the opening of a free public mental-health clinic. This represents about-face in the neo-liberal march towards making things private and for-profit." So STOP gave an "Our Foundation Award" to its Mental Health Movement, specifically to Kowboy Jackson, Robin Kaufman, Linda Hatcher, Johnnie Mae Savage, Chuy Campuzano, David Mailey, Clarence Johnson, Carol Sawall Smith (posthumously), and Calvin McCloud (pictured in the center). Also pictured, from left to right: Badonna Reingold, Matt Ginsberg-Jaeckle, Calvin, Ms. Diane Adams, Alex, and Ald. Rossana Rodríguez.

Alex with "Our Foundation" awardee Ms. Marilyn Harper, a quiet leader who has served as a STOP leader, member, staff member, and board director since Mayor Emanuel closed her daughters' school.

Dixon with "Our Foundation" awardee Ebone McCall, a leader of Not Me We's 312 Tenants Union, which has gotten the City to take many slumlord buildings to court.

Also: outgoing STOP board member Ms Linda Tinsley, left, received flowers from board chair Marcus Gill, right.
